“Nothing is neither good nor bad
just thinking makes it so.”
But as we dismiss these words,
our opinions begin to grow.
They become a word of justice
between the dark and light,
but nothing is so simple
as to be just black and white.
What can we say is fair?
Who’s story do we believe?
How does one determine
the punishments to be received?
And why are we ones to judge?
Why are we the ones to rule?
To be the ones defining,
What is and isn’t cruel.
We know what we believe.
We believe that we know.
