The future is never certain;
It is filled with so many things.
Picture the sky and the stars behind it
And see if you could count them all-
Even the ones you could not see.
That is telling the future;
Looking at a map that goes on forever,
Giving you a picture but never a scene.
Sometimes not knowing is like pins on your nerves.
Sometimes not knowing is so serene.

But I’m afraid to go on
I look at the sky and see only dark clouds.
It might be raining soon,
Or the sun might appear.
But who knows?
I certainly don’t.

Author’s note: This poem is about how the future doesn’t need to be stressful or bad, but can be anything you want it to be. Rain or shine, the future can still be good.
